According to Automotive News, Nissan is trying to get Ford or Stellantis to join them in selling new Nissan Rogue crossovers by offering the chassis and production, presumably with the other company providing styling and tuning for their version. The deal would likely be similar to the Dodge Caravan/Volkswagen Routan or Dodge Dakota/Mitsubishi Raider arrangement. ... Read more

Nissan has had varied numerous 'quality' issues & a poisoned upper management culture for years. I wouldn't touch a Datsun with a ten-foot pole. It got worse under Ghosn.
Premature salt-belt rust-out, dismal U.S. sales outlook like Mitsubishi.

I can't see why Stellantis would even consider Nissan for product.

The last Nissan Rouge I rented which was the second gen had an A/C system that could not deal with southern Georgia’s summer heat and humidity. It had less than 1000 miles. Never tried another after that miserable week.

The current gen actually does great in that regard. I've had a few over the last year.

Which is supposed to be a hybrid, if I read something correctly. So, it may not use any part of the current driveline, which may actually be smart.
Right, I missed that. Nissan is using an updated version of the e-power series hybrid (range extender). That drivetrain had a small battery in the euro-models it's installed in and didn't get amazing economy as a result. Hopefully they fit a larger battery this go around.

I did have some of that in the article.
FWIW, a lot of Japanese cars had substandard a/c performance. Something about being on an island, maybe.
It is a serial hybrid and a brand new driveline. No CVT AFAIK.

Good afternoon, my brother in law bought a 2025 Rogue last Aug. or Sept. & they gave him a new 1 in Feb. because of so many issues. I have driven his new one & from my experience I hope to never see a Dodge or any other Stellantis nameplate on one.
MOPAR Always ! 🤞

Mazda already has a collaboration with Toyota, I don't think they need much more help. Nissan, on the other hand ...

Mitsubishi could just rebadge Nissans from their US factories, give Nissan needed cash, and help Mitsu avoid import taxes (err sorry, tarrifs)

Utter speculation : The Toyota-Subaru collab is done, the Miata will be the basis for the next-gen 86, and Toyota needs an inline-6 for the next gen Supra

Nissan-Mitsu-Mazda would be a fun collection of three totally different companies with three totally different cultures, two of which aren't really best known for quality, making very different cars that compete with each other. Who would merge three companies like that?

Honestly, my biggest worry is dealer support. Stellantis dealers could barely handle servicing the Hornet when it came out - I have no faith in them learning how to service a Nissan. Granted, the Hornet's service manuals were often incomplete or incorrect but I don't feel we can guarantee that won't happen again.
