I got cheated out of $250 by a member. His handle is dustman3999 "
"Don"

He referred me to Mike at markettrading1995@aol.com

I was looking for a Power Control Module for the drivers side power window control module for a 2005 PT Cruiser GTO Convertible

Mike said he had the part and asked $250 and told me it would be shipped the next day. I paid Zelle to his wife Franchester Monroe lashaymonroe30@icloud.com He never shipped it. Instead, He came back and asked for $50 more. I believed him and even tried to pay him $50. Then the Zelle account he was using was closed and starting to ask me to pay him in gift cards. He also wouldn't accept FedExing the cash.

He claims his name is Jamie Mike 1106 Lulu ave Crivitz WI 54114

I'm sorry that you got scammed.
The module (DDM) is serviced with the regulator. 2004-2005 uses the same. The 'before/after' date becomes the after-date unit.
The left & right window regulators are different (mirrored). I don't know if the modules might be the same?
Discontinued doesn't have to mean unavailable, but this is a high-demand part.
You say it is 'broken', what are the symptoms?

I am trying to fix this for my father. He lives across the country so I don't really know whats wrong. Perhaps the top or windows dont go up. Do you have any tips on where I might find this part? Thanks

The owner of the property at that address is Mark Wiedemeier. Fran Monroe was from Oshkosh and passed away last June.

Sorry you were scammed. Some people are despicable.

Members are easy to remove but it's really hard to know when someone is scamming. In this case the member may have been blameless and referring to someone he didn't know was.

If you aren't positive that it needs a DDM, it would be good to do some diagnosis first. The failure rate for DDM's is relatively low. I would hate for you to expend all this energy just to find out that the module wasn't the problem.

Get a good description of the symptoms. He may still need to have someone with a good scan tool see what the problem is & disassemble the door? I don't know his skill sets or tool inventory.

Does the drivers rear 1/4 window work? This is controlled by the DDM. Do all windows drop slightly when actuating the top up or down? If we can narrow down the possibilities, it may help to determine the problem area. The DDM is basically 2 pairs of 'smart' up/down relays.

The most common culprit is the wiring harness between the drivers door & the body where it flexes & fatigues from many years of opening & closing the door. The DDM can store fault codes which can be read with a capable scan tool.
