I am encountering stories on-line about repair facilities that cannot access and clear diagnostic codes in late model Chrysler vehicles, specifically 2021 models. I remember reading something several years ago that Chrysler was first to implement new technology such that a repair facility (dealership, independent , DIY) would need to purchase a subscription authorization from Chrysler to allow a bi-directional scan tool to access and monitor data in various modules on the vehicle network. Other manufacturers would soon follow this lead set by Chrysler. Is this correct information?
