I'm understanding of that. I'm talking about while driving at higher speeds. It's also mandatory for Hybrids as well I believe?
Those noises are completely stupid. Most cars you can't hear as they approach anyway. The fake noise at higher speeds is a waste of time and energy and only to make people feel like there actually vroom vrooming. If they're going to buy something that's all electric they may as well get used to no engine noise. Chrysler always has good sound systems. They may as well crank up Lawrence Welk and keep it moving. 🤷🏽‍♂️

To those that say the design looks somewhat familiar and can't place it... harken to circa 1999, before the Germans killed off the idea of there being a need for a 2-door muscle car and wanted it to be a 4-door...

In my heart, soul, and everyplace else, I lusted after this Concept S-O-O-O-O-O-O much!
What a crying shame they didn't green-light it BEFORE The Occupation could take hold.
The CNG Powered V8 was a great idea, and should have happened.

Unfortunately for Old Ma Mopar......It was the beginning of

And now Stellantis, please focus some of this design talent on Chrysler vehicles. Despite the Hornet/Tonale, it appears you CAN design gorgeous automobiles.
A certain CEO is not around to water down the designs like he did starting with the 2011 Chrysler 300 refresh and everything else that came after.

If the Charger is offered in AWD, PHEV with the Tornado 510, I will very seriously consider buying one if the price is not insane.

Still hating upon Sergio, are we? Whatever watering down that he inflicted was balanced with the assertion that a vehicle's styling was something that people should be drawn to. Maybe he was trying to avoid the "love it or hate it" predicament that Mopar styling occasionally finds itself in because, after all, he was a CEO and unavoidably needed to pursue profitability.

I'd accept any CEO's direction after what Tom Gale did to us.

Huge mistake and correction: Bob Eaton

The love it or hate it philosophy was what gave us the 1994 Ram over the “everyone thinks it’s ok, but no strong emotions” Phoenix project. The love it or hate it design was far more profitable.

‘14 Cherokee was definitely a love it or hate it vehicle, and definitely under SM.

Sergio gave us the Cherokee, Dart, and 200. All except Cherokee are long gone and forgotten. The Cherokee is on life support and has been for years. Only an ego like Sergio had would green light a car, (the 200) and when it didn't sell throw the whole design team under the bus.

So odd and very interesting!

Looks exactly like a ZJ Grand Cherokee with the body chopped behind the b-pillar for a cargo bed, and a new grille. That would have been amazing in 1994, but I still like the "love it or hate it" design as you call it better.

Anyway, the Charger EV looks amazing. 110% nailed it. Gorgeous car that looks 2022 and 1970 at the same time. Bingo, they nailed it again.

Unfortunately, the V8 engine sells those cars in that segment and I still think they're making a huge mistake by quitting the Hemi like a smoking habit.

100% agree, although I could only do it if there is a 4 door variant. It would have nearly all the utility I would need. Heck I'd even take an "R/T" with the 4xe powertrain, as I would guess the lighter weight and significantly better aero would improve the range dramatically.

I mean, I am pretty happy with my "garage" so to speak, but I wouldn't mind upgrades:

My Garage Now -> 2025ish
Dodge Durango SRT ->BOF Durango Tornado PHEV
13 Charger SXT AWD -> Charger PHEV AWD R/T, Scat Pack, or SRT
2023 4xe Wrangler ordered (allegedly scheduled for production next week) -> same vehicle but actually in my driveway

I am adding a subpanel to my garage for my RV and 4xe anyway, so I will be prepared. And my house is actually also a perfect location for solar power too (no trees blocking sun except very early AM and I get a lot of sun), so long as I don't move I could be driving for free quite a bit.

ZJ GC forward the A pillar but IIRC between the A&B pillar that's the minivans. I remember someone mentioning the door is off the shelf same door from the 84-95 minivans.

I could really get into this Charger Daytona as well. Even as an EV. And that's saying a lot since I love V8's.
Me too...I LOVE V8s, but that Charger Daytona is awesome. I just want to be able to turn off that stupid faux engine noise.

You can turn it off.

I am willing to bet that the aftermarket will have alternatives you can use. I know this will be a big area for customization. Imagine all the cars with the Jetsons vehicle sound.

I thought the Phoenix looked like the then generation of F-150 with a Dodge grille. Just my opinion.

No, Sergio was a bean counter who could only look at numbers. He had no grasp on the emotional aspects of the automotive industry nor manufacturing.
