“Everybody knows electrification is coming, we’ll reinvent the muscle car as far as Dodge is concerned,” Matt McAlear, head of Dodge Sales Operations told MC&T. “I’m extremely excited about where the future is going, but right now everybody is enjoying ‘the bachelor party.’ This is the last hurrah.”

I'm assuming with those statements, this is some kind of special addition model. Although, they could surprise us with a concept.

Hornet?

Electrified Charger/Challenger? Electrified Durango?

Mild hybrid Pentastar & Hemi from Ram?

Remember, this is going to be a "teaser" on July 8 with a reveal later. So, we will not know everything.

Something new from Dodge is coming on July 8, but it's still a mystery

So apparently there is something being announced, but there isn't a hint of what this could be. My guess would be the Hornet, but anything is possible.
Last time this happened, we got the Portal which was so exciting, and then began the constant 3 years away stuff started happening again.
Well we haven't seen any new prototypes on the road so I'm leaning heavily to a new special edition of a Charger/Challenger.
Not seeing any prototypes means we're at least 5 yrs away.

Speaking of the Portal, have you seen what is coming from VW and others? They look like the Portal with the intent for autonomous driving. This is what happens when a company sits on its hands for years after having a decent idea.

The dinos are still surprisingly competitive and dominate their small field.
Put in EV tech and they'll do fine. Everything can be upgraded. I'd have liked that neat Maserati twist on the front suspension but ...

I believe I mentioned it before, but for the Charger, the only real "problem" with the architecture is the "fastback" style that hurts the rear space. The 300 does not have nearly as much of an issue with that because it is a more boxy designed rear. They are suprisingly well sized vehicles for what they are. Small enough to be nimble, big enough to carry 4 quite comfortable.

If they are revealing a redesign at the end of the year, my hope would be for a flatter rear with a hatch style trunk (mixing the style of the 68-70s with the added utility the hatch rear brings), but that is definitely wishful thinking

The Durango is our family hauler, but the (2013) Charger is the adult driver. I have a feeling it will be staying with us a while longer too (in spite of some failing electronics components).

EV day suggests an EV. Tim K implied a Charger. I'm going to guess a high-power, real-hybrid Charger. It might be a Charger EV due in 2023 or some such. Is Stell. able to do a serious high-po BEV? I don't know; I was surprised by the Pacifica PHEV. DaimlerChrysler and then Fiat Chrysler were developing and testing BEVs continuously, just not building any given lack of demand and perhaps not-ready-yet. Maybe they're reached the point of actually selling one. Maybe they licensed technology from BYD or Nio; who knows? Nio was, last I heard, in financial trouble. I don't think BYD has linked up to a western or Japanese automaker yet, but I could be wrong. (BYD is the world's most prolific maker of electric buses.)

Daimler Chrysler did have the Aspen Hybrid way back when they should have kept offering hybrid versions of their vehicles, like Ford & GM did.

I do not think Tim K mentioned a product in this last interview. He just said a product tease, which means we will get nothing firm to stand on.

Since Tim K has been talking about the end of the V8 and electrification performance since January, it may be that they will "tease" an EV Charger to go up against Tesla Model S Plaid.

They are keeping a good lid on it so far.

The Journey replacement in the EU (Fiat Freemont) is the 3-row Compass named Jeep Commander.
