tomazlike that Chrome Strip on top the grill. Makes room for Wagoneer Styling .The Wagoneer will be vastly different than the Ram styling... its more in line with modern Jeeps....

Edit: there we go..IMO, If Ram even looks 75% like this all I can say is GM better look out (since they are having a hard time now). :D Ford Ecoboost boys better hope the Hemi hybrid doesn't get rated 25hwy-20city or Ford will be in trouble too. :cool: (at least until they copy Ram in two or more years :rolleyes:).

The new truck is all about aero. @suzq044 's highlight picture shows a lot more detail than the spy photo did. Note how the indention in the hood runs all the way down to the thicker crosshair in the grille. That grille is a lot more bold than the "Ram" grille will have today! Also note that by having the large cross hair takes up space on the grille allowing for a better drag coefficient. LED running lights will be a much more modern look for the trucks as well.

Ram already uses active grille shutters to adjust airflow. The new crosshair should have that much effect considering how much of the grille is still available to be open. Anymore, most cars don't have much of an opening for engine cooling. For example, look at the many other vehicles in the FCA US lineup....

The Jeeps are very noticeable... most air is pulled in from the bottom on vehicles now, allowing for better flow of air up and over the vehicle creating less drag.
 
You can actually see a nub in the center of the hood sticking further out and down than the rest of the hood in this photo. I assume that corresponds with the indentation in the hood you were mentioning? Is this just a stylistic detail or will it actually aid in aero?

Chevrolet posted this lame video, "making" a Silverado seem like a F-150. Which is funny because its similar to the camo they are using for their 2019 Silverado that is testing currently. But watch when they pull the camo off... you will see foam inside the camo to throw off everyone. FCA US uses this and the Ram DT has it,

I figured it was more than likely part of the camo, but it did peak my curiosity when you mentioned the indentation. That commercial is absolutely laughable indeed, it wouldn't be a Chevy commercial if they weren't smearing Ford though.
