What Stellantis vehicle would currently get you to buy?

I have been thinking about this recently. For a while there I had a hard time finding something in the Stellantis lineup that would have me buying given where I am right now in life.

I have had a Charger, 300C, various Jeeps(really miss my Liberty), LH cars and I grew up with Chrysler products throughout my childhood. I have recommended Darts and 200s(the folks that haven't had accidents are still in them).

I think for me the Hornet is the first legit offering I would go for a test drive in but I really want a smaller sportier car. Seeing what Dodge did with the Tonale I feel like the Giulia could have the same treatment and very quickly be in my driveway.

But yea, I finally see something I really like. I think the future could be very positive and could see me with a Dodge again.

I looked at the Dart & 200. I picked up a nice 200S V6 AWD because it fit me nicely. I do like the current Alfa-Romeo offerings. I don't need a truck or SUV.
The Fiat 124 Spyder never got a fair shake, but that was basically a Mazda Miata.

I really did like the Dart. Also agree the current Alfa lineup is pretty good. The Giulia for me is the right size, I just really hate the price.

I’d say Challenger to go with my Charger but I just saw some pictures of the Opel Manta GSe concept and looks nice- could see that with a little tweaking being made into a small Dodge two door that would probably sell… at the very least maybe some cues from the cluster and infotainment setup used on other vehicles as it looks clean!

If we are talking NEW, there isn't anything in Stellantis's lineup I would consider buying right now.

I like upcoming Charger EV, but the devil is in the details. I am sure it will have a ridiculous price.

Stellantis has done an excellent job pricing itself out of my comfort zone. Whatever affordable vehicles it offers, like Compass, Renegade, 500X, are either not very competitive or downright outdated.

If I had to replace my 2018 Fiat 124 Spider, I would look at Mazda MX-5 RF, Toyota GR86, the new Honda Civic Hatchback, upcoming 2024 Ford Mustang GT, or a used Dodge Challenger 392. Whatever it is, it will have to have manual transmission.

If I had to replace my 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, I would look at upcoming Toyota 4Runner and Tacoma, or perhaps a used Jeep Wrangler or Gladiator.

Besides Stellantis's stupid prices, another big drawback are the dealers. Currently I have a CDJR dealer 30 miles away I can work with, but there aren't many others around here I would bother to set foot in. I bought the Jeep from a dealer 1,000 miles away; the Fiat from one 125 miles away.

I have been buying Chrysler products for 30+ years, but I honestly can't see another one in my future.

I am quite happy with the two vehicles I own at the moment.

If I had to replace my Ram now, I'd probably consider a Mustang as my wife now works for a Ford-Lincoln dealership and would be eligible for any discounts. We've already had her Rav4 serviced there (oil change, tire rotation, state inspection) with the tire rotation and state inspection fees discounted (no charge) and the oil change discounted 10%.

Unfortunately, probably none. I have definitely fallen in love with the two Flexes we have, the truck is not going to be replaced as it is old enough to not have any of the nanny state stuff on it and the Lebaron convertible is my toy/sleeper for fun.

I pulled the trigger on a '23 Grand Wagoneer Obsidian, trading in my Durango HC for it. So far I am very pleased with the truck.
This is my first non-Durango truck in 23yrs. Now, if Dodge came out with a Durango based on this beast, I would consider going back.

Next up might be the Hornet. I was going to wait for the R/T but I'm starting to think the GT just might have the best mix of performance of value.

If there will be another Durango, it will probably be based on STLA Large.

I am very sad I don’t have a Dodge or a newer Chrysler. The 300 is ancient and outdated. I did buy a used Challenger and enjoyed it, but once I started having to drive it to work I took advantage of the high trade in and sold it.
I’d love to have a convertible Challenger but the pricing is unreasonable and I don’t feel safe with a Challenger (and don’t like the insurance rates) in metro Atlanta.
The Wrangler 4xe has an open top and good performance. An Gladiator fits where Dakota was. Sorry Dodge.

I'm eventually planning on replacing my wife's 2007 PT Cruiser with a Dodge Hornet or Jeep Compass. My PT is now at 492,000 miles and will just let it fade away once it hits my goal of 500,000 miles. My 2009 Ram 1500 is still running great at 118,000 miles and plan on eventually replacing it mwith another 1500; although I may wait for the Hurricane to make it to the Ram.

Renegade’s styling hasn’t aged well; 500X, on the other hand, has.

My brother owned a 2015 Renegade Trailhawk: it was surprisingly fun to drive. But that 9-speed automatic died on them the same week the warranty ended.

That transmission has amassed a terrible reputation. That’s a non-starter with me.

Another thing that holds me back from buying a new vehicle, in addition to insane prices and bad dealers, is the amount of electronics automakers are loading onto vehicles. This is the same across all automakers, though.

There is new technology, like backup sensors, blind spot monitors, backup cameras and TPMS sensors that I don’t mind. There’s other, like ESS, that I got used to. But I hate other cr+p like finicky lane departure and panicky forward collision warning. And don’t get me started with this current trend to have to pay a monthly “subscription” for the navigation and the seat heaters to work... That's just ridiculous.

So true. I love my current cars because they’re right at the limit of technology I like. I don’t need my car to drive for me. I just need it to be enjoyable to drive.

PS - the blind spot monitor on my Fiat Spider doesn’t work. It never did. Actually, I should say, it ALWAYS works; it is always on. The thing issues false positives 90% of the time. It did since they day I got the car new, and the same thing happened on every other Spider I test drove.

Another example of useless Mazda electronics.

The blind spot monitor is the one thing I do like on our 2016 Toyota Rav4. Lane departure warning, not so much.

Damn thing is always beeping at me (lane departure warning). I told my wife her car is too damn sensitive. LOL!

Hellcat something or early/mid 2000s viper. I’m happy with my non hobby cars at moment. Will update my 2017 pacifica to hybrid at some point in future.

I guess if the question is about new cars, then I may be a pacifica hybrid buyer soon.

I ordered an brand new solar yellow 2023 Jeep Renegade. This Jeep looks great, is just about the right size for me. As far as the 9 speed automatic is concerned, Stellantis apparently has improved it quite nicely, i have seen very few complaints with this transmission on youtube recently. The standard engine is a turbo 1,3 l 4 cylinder with an amazing amount of torque at a low rpm ( 210 at 1750 ). I believe it will be the same engine that the Hornet R/T will have. This cuv is way underrated, very capable 4x4 and if you take good care of it and dont abuse it, it should serve you a very long time. As for the prices, sure they are a bit higher than the competition, but not by that much, just a bit more expensive than the chevy Trailblazer when equipped similarly, and a bit less expensive than a Ford Bronco sport. I have read many reviews of actual owners of recent renegades, and the vast majority of them are really pleased with their renegades. As a matter of fact around 75% of owners would buy again their Renegades again and those who were dissatisfied were complaining mostly about poor fuel economy, so so performance, rear space a bit tight. Very few complaining about problems. I should receive it late this summer or very early fall. Previously i owned a 2008 Dodge Nitro, but i sold it because it needed repairs and regular maintenance ( tires, brakes, exhaust, battery, some spotty surface rust, and the security system was acting strange for my last 3 months of ownership, sometimes it would not unlock the doors, other times it would not permit the engine to start ). I have driven this nitro for 15 years without any serious problems. I have always owned Chrysler ( for 47 years ) and i will never buy another car or truck from another company. Thank you Chrysler for the many years of satisfaction you gave me with your excellent products. ( more than a million miles total for 47 years ) Daniel Thibodeau,
