A model s plaid comes in a 4800 pounds. More of everything, except interior space i’m guessing, about 1000 pounds lighter. I didn’t have to do much searching. A F150 lightning with standard battery weights about 6000.

with that said, there is room to improve. Though I did read the reviews saying it was sporty around the track (shrugs shoulders).

And they are gasoline powered.
The point is 6000 lbs isn’t a big deal anymore. Given safety standards and an EV battery with decent range you are going to end up with a heavy car.
Charger is not heavy compared to its peers in the EV world.
It is significantly heavier than its peers:

Other large BEV cars:

Luxury brands (not peers, different class):
BMW i7 6067 lb
Mercedes EQS 5530 lb

Charger's peers:
Lucid Air 4536 lb
Tesla S 4776 lb

Also 70-98 MPGe is also like the luxury cars and unlike its peers.

Lucid Air 101 cu ft 32 cu ft 105-137 MPGe
Charger 104 cu ft 24 cu ft 70-98 MPGe
Tesla S 94 cu ft 26 cu ft 96-122 MPGe

You picked some expensive peers. More expensive means more lightweight, more exotic materials.
As I said. 6000 lbs is the new 4000 lbs.

Lucid air base price is 69,900, touring starts at 78,900 which has comparable statistics to the s and scat pack
S non plaid is 79,900.
scat pack starts at 73,190

They are in the same ballpark.

Except there will be lower price versions of the Charger. You’re comparing upper version prices of Charger to entry prices for Tesla and Lucid.

Do you know something the rest of us don't about the prices? The only ones I've seen announced started at $59K or thereabouts for the R/T.

The r/t doesn’t compare performance wise. I put the scat with two similar performers.

but yeah, sure there is a lower trim.

Charger R/T base price is $59,595 before destination.

Also, keep in mind that the only Charger pricing we have is the 2 door.

All I know is $59k is lower than $80k or $73k pieces for the “competition”.

Those are the only other large BEV cars for sale in the US at this time. Other vehicles are not in the same vehicle size segment.

Charger is very expensive itself with the 2024 models, but it doesn't have the lightweight exotic materials.

You said it, but it is wrong.

Let me fix that. I said it and YOU think it’s wrong.

I'm not sure if StellPower's article ever made it here:

It appears I was quoting an overestimation of the weight. I have seen multiple sources cite this as the weights for the R/T and Scat Pack

R/T 5,698lbs
Scat Pack 5,767lbs

Not exactly athletic, but a little more reasonable.
Apples to oranges, but a 68 Charger with a 318 engine, 727 trans, 8 3/4 axle weighed in at 3,300 lbs. according to my title.

You said it and I proved it's wrong.

The US market barely has any vehicles under 2450 lb, less than 10% are under 2700 lb, 25% are under 3200 lb, nearly half are under 3700 lb, 70% are under 4200 lb.

4500 lbs is the new 4000 lb, but 4000 lbs still sells very well. Over 5000 lbs doesn't sell well. See chart on p 25

Back in the 1970s, the large behemoths (LTD, New Yorker, Caprice) were 4000 lb cars. Now there are large 6000 lb cars (and this ignores trucks). The 4000 lb cars were above the average in the 1970s and the 6000 lb cars are above the average today.
You haven’t proven me wrong. Safety standards added a lot of weight or a lot of cost. And batteries add weight. No inexpensive way around that.
