shows us what a STLS Medium player for Chrysler (Atlantic coupe and convertible) and Dodge (Shadow sedan and coupe) could look like if they ever decide to build anything exciting again.
Atlantic sounds like an odd name for a Subcompact segment. Considering the ocean is so large. My render was a rebadged Grand Wagoneer.

My picks would be Laser and LeBaron

We probably need to ease up on the heritage/historical names. Not all of them are pleasant memories for the customers Chrysler and Dodge need to lure back in.

Well, yes... though it's not much of a share. I don't know, for people who seem to be terrified of Chinese automakers, they seem to be acting as the importers in a lot of places.
Working closely with BYD (building electrification supply chain) in Brazil....currently.

Afaik this car is a version of cusw aka Dodge Dart/Chrysler200/Fiat Viaggio. When Marchionne cancelled the C200 they'd considered importing it i.e., a version of this trumpchi instead. In the end: they did not bother to since 'no business case' aka sedan segment dying etc. In both the usa and europe. GAC itself began decades ago based on alfa 156(?) Platform, etc. I.e., before the fca era jv, in the 1980s.
Foreseeably, though the in/outsourcing will not be of fully built cars, ev or not, but more of engineering, r&d esp software and ev, AND much more of the 'supply chain' ie componentry. For eg n american and europe new Stla medium Jeep compass will have VERY much higher 'imported content' from Brazil, India and yes China, than ever before. No near shoring for stellantis.

Why would they want a car from their former JV partner when their current joint venture partner makes a car the same size and cost that has the same Prince engine as they are putting into production in the US? That makes no sense.

It should be a different platform. "The production Empow sedan is based on GAC's new Global Platform Modular Architecture."

Given the vastly different years, weights, engines, and hybrid model I will say this is all new, perhaps the base model shares the same 7 speed, that's it.

Those are Toyota engines in the Empow.

"the Empow is built on an all-new GPMA platform, which opens up avenues for future electrification."

The Emkoo looks like it would've made a better Hornet. It has the sharp design for it.
"The stern is suspiciously reminiscent of the Japanese Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. Note that the GAC also works very closely with Mitsubishi, so the similarity of the models is understandable."

That may give us a clue of what the platform is. It may very well be updated Journey/Avenger, Lancer/Eclipse Cross under there, not Dart.

A Lancer with Toyota engines.
