Didnt we have this Conversation before about the 1.3??? It looks good on paper but isnt as efficient as it SHOULD be than the 2.4.
From what I know 1.3 is a very efficient engine when mated to a suitable (read: efficient) transmission.
Jeep Compass 1.3 turbo with dry DCT consumes no more fuel than Škoda Karoq 1.5 turbo. with dry DCT.
Some people on this board considers VAG 1.5 turbo to be a very efficient engine.
Big issue is still in 9 speed auto.
The 9sp auto has always been an issue. I wish they would put this transaxle to bed. But since they invested heavily at the Indiana transmission plants here, I would imagine it will stick around. Management doesn't like to admit mistakes.
Transmission shift quality is subjective, but most Americans would rather drive a "bad" torque converter automatic than an average DCT or CVT.

The 9 speed did the same or better. So I am calling your complaints about the 9 speed efficiency BS.
The real problem is the overweight, poor aerodynamics Renegade and putting a 1.3T in a heavy truck where a 1.5T or 1.6T will do better.
