Seen in durnig the NFL game tonight so looked it up

210hp, some where on this thread I seen people post 160 and 175hp

The 2026 Jeep® Cherokee offers powerful fuel economy thanks to its innovative new powertrain. The 1.6L I4 Turbo Hybrid engine empowers two drive electric motors using regenerative braking. This supplements the engine as needed, offering greater mileage, efficiency and readily-available power.
177hp and 220lbft is non hybrid.

The non-hybrid is not offered on Jeep (yet).
The 210 number is what most sources are publishing.
so where is the link, your source, that speculates it will be/ or is it this thread ?
Most of this thread is about a 160-170hp motor but the thread is about the 2026 Cherokee.

No idea who your sources are but my source is the Jeep Website.

Jeep website, Jeep does not offer a non turbo version.

WOW Just WOW
that is a source, not sources, and I posted that yesterday,
you and most on here are speculating on a non-turbo version that does not exist and may never exist...read through this whole thread and it is all about the 160-170hp non turbo...
We are saying the 1.6 without electrical assistance is 177hp and 220ftlbs. Which isn’t offered (yet). Original sources state that. Which one, hard to find.

but this Cherokee had 210hp and 230ftlbs of torque and is hybrid.

I know that and I posted as such, and posted the link to the cherokee in which nobody had posted

I was asking why everybody was talking about this motor that may or may not even be put in the Cherokee? But then I remember reading through this thread the last couple days, some people were bringng up the motors in the neons and others vehicles also.

Hard to keep old people on track now days

I'm old, but not blind. I'm sure it's because it has it's roots as a Peugeot motor. Heck, I thought the ratings that were being posted were what it's coming with. I didn't research it because I'm not in the market for one.

yeah, a couple days ago I read through most of the thread as we are in the market for a new SUV, but all the talk about a 1.6ltr 170hp motor was a debbie downer,
The GMC Terrain AT4 was looking better and better

then they advertised the 2026 Cherokee turbo last night, looked it up and it was nothing like was in this thread, so my hopes are up it will be somethng we may want, would rather it have the 2.0 turbo in it though

was hoping for a Compass but it looks like they are going to make it larger and who knows when and where it will be built and sold.

All Jeep Cherokee stats we know, in one place

About the 1.6 engine
New 1.6 turbo-hybrid setups coming to Dundee
some of that info in the motales is incorrect per the Jeep website, as to Destination Charges, the 2026 GMC Canyons is $2,095 up 300 bucks from last year, which does not make since as GM cancelled the union contract and went with a non-union carrier..

The power rating in the Jeep Cherokee, the first vehicle in North America to use it, is 177 hp @ 5,500 rpm and 221 lb-ft from 2,000 to 3,500 rpm. It is, however, only sold with electric motors which push power to 210 hp and 230 lb-ft of torque. It uses a twin-scroll turbocharger and direct injection; to get its admirable fuel economy, the Cherokee version uses the Miller cycle.

The transmission, in the Cherokee at least, is a hybrid-electric setup created with Punch Powertrain (a former DAF group), owned by China’s Yinyi. This eCVT system has built-in motors; it does not use bands, but has a planetary gearset.

The basic Peugeot EP6 design dates to 2003, but major durability changes in the second generation, released in 2023, included a timing chain. The new PureTech label distances it from earlier, less reliable versions. The French EP6CDTX variant produces 201 hp and 203 lb-ft of torque, with hybrid versions producing a total 296 and 360 horsepower including the motors; the American version is set up for economy first. The European version is made in Hungary, to the tune of 200,000 engines per year. The first generation Peugeot EP6 engines were made in Douvrin.

What is incorrect as per Jeep's web site?
I'll update destination charges.

I was pointing out the GM raised thier prices, not that what you posted was incorrect...
colors are $595
Black or Black/Arctic interior which shows black and grey????
Overland price is $46,590 went up since you posted this is what we would get..
Black/Arctic shows black and gray on the web site but the press photos show it as black and white.
Overland price went up with or without a different color?
I took GM out of the "cheaper destination" note. I do find it interesting that delivery of a car from Japan to the US apparently costs less than delivery from Michigan. I guess GM decided to sleaze with the destination game too.
Canadian prices appear to have to show "with all fees and charges" which is nice.

the base price of it went up, white is a no charge where the rest are $595 no matter what model.

The GMC Canyon is assembled 8 miles from my house and last year shipping was $1,695, this year over $2k
Is this cherokee similar to a GC 4XE in regards to how it operates?
Son has a GC 4XE he drives it in the dual mode, where his wifes drives it in electric mode to and from work...

this may be a vehcle we may look at just as long at it does not look like that Hyndia Sante Fe, that looks like the Ford Freestar.

That's what surprised me. They raised shipping by $400, I guess to one-up Jeep slightly.
Cherokee is a traditional hybrid, albeit one using a motor-transmission system, not a plugin. No electric mode, which makes it cheaper and lighter.
Odd that GM would follow Jeep into the "nickel and dime" strategy.

Most Chevys are still on 2024-or-2025 on the web site. Equinox is showing up for 2026.
Equinox colors are:
White
Green
Gray
Black
Blue
Red ($495)

None of these are $595 (though iridescent peral tricoat on Blazer is $995). They also have white roof and black roof, each $495. Note this is for LT AWD. $32,495 after offers and shipping.

I don't show $2,000 for destination. I show $1795.

When I look at GMC... Terrain, let's say, its shown for 2026. That's interesting, NOW we have $495 for any color but white. ($645 for red.) But... this is GMC version of Chevy.
Destination is still $1,795. So GM is still below Jeep, I don't see support for “over $2,000”?

Because of this so called Miller cycle engine from Peugeot mister Tavares axed proper 1.5 litre Miller from FCA and stopped development of 2.0 litre Miller from FCA.
Yes, GME T4/Hurricane 4 was supposed to have Miller cycle version.

P.S.
Do not mistake Miller cycle with low boost version of GME. It's not not the same although Miller cycle engines are usually low to mid boost turbo engines.

If it's reliable no one will care. I know in you're book FIat could do no wrong. Their brief history here in NA tends to say otherwise. 2014 to 2020.

Its not unlike Chrysler to introduce just an acceptable drivetrain at intro only to upgrade it during a future refresh. When in reality, it's not ever been that it was all together at a launch. Either a new engine in an old design, or a new design with an older engine.
Chrysler? Whatever gave you the impression that Chrysler had anything to do with this vehicle? It was designed, specced, and built, by NON Chrysler employees of Stellantis, ie: India, Poland, etc..
Let's just stop pretending that Jeep is still an 'American' brand. The only 'American' part is when it gets off the ship!
